Biography

Marc T. Miller is litigation attorney, a problem solver focused on helping businesses grow and thrive in the face of everyday challenges. He prides himself in developing an intimate understanding of clients’ businesses to better tailor his services to address their specific needs. Clients in a wide variety of industries rely on his experience for advice and guidance on solving problems both simple and complex.

Marc has extensive experience in business formation and financing. He provides general counsel and transactional representation to businesses and their stakeholders and represents both the buyers and sellers of business interests. Additionally, Marc negotiates and drafts vendor contracts, employment arrangements and licensing agreements. He recognizes and understands the pitfalls associated with each of these varied transactions. Clients routinely benefit from Marc’s extensive contact network. Recently, Marc represented several start-up businesses in which he drafted and negotiated commercial real estate lease agreements and obtained SBA guaranteed financing.

Marc also represents business clients in the acquisition and sale of commercial real estate. Clients include buyers, sellers, borrowers, investors, landlords, tenants, joint venture partners, and real estate brokers. These clients seek counsel with the purchase, sale, leasing, financing, ownership and management of a wide array of commercial properties. Marc recently represented a solar energy developer on the acquisition and development of multiple properties in upstate New York and represented a local commercial landlord on the purchase of several commercial buildings in lower Fairfield County.

A firm believer in the concept that the best way to handle litigation is to avoid it altogether, Marc nonetheless recognizes that there are times when litigation is the only option to enforce a client’s contractual rights. Knowing that, Marc is first and foremost a litigator. Recent successes for Marc include construction litigation, business torts, employment disputes, real property litigation, foreclosure and landlord/tenant disputes. Marc has tried numerous cases to a successful verdict. He has briefed and argued appeals in state and federal court in both Connecticut and New York.

Marc began his legal career as a judicial law clerk. His understanding of the judicial system has only increased through his many years with mid-sized firms in Norwalk, Bridgeport and Hartford. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, District of Columbia, U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, U.S. Court of Appeals, 2nd Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
