Gregory J. Spuches to Present on Trusts and Estate Planning for Wealth Management

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (May 14, 2015) – Gregory J. Spuches, of counsel to the Connecticut law firm of Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C., will present at a seminar titled, “Trusts 101” to be held June 5, 2015. Attorney Spuches will join co-presenters Doris D’Ambrosio, James Dougherty, Marissa Dungey, and Constance Shields for this NBI seminar. The day-long seminar will provide an overview of the variety of trusts available to address wealth management and preservation.

Attorney Gregory Spuches will cover the topics Trusts Used for Tax Reduction and Estate Planning for the Disabled. Trusts Used for Tax Reduction will include: Charitable Remainder Trusts; Qualified Domestic Trusts; Qualified Personal Residence trusts; Defective Trusts; Education Trusts for Children and Grandchildren; Generation Skipping Trusts; and Funding the Trust and Estate Planning for the Disabled will include: The Types of Special Needs Trusts and Their Specific Purposes; Who Can Be the Beneficiary; and Drafting Tips and Samples.

Attorney Spuches states, “While trusts are not right for everyone, they are valuable tools in many situations. Those with disabled children, for example, can utilize a trust to ensure there will be assets available to provide services and recreational opportunities to their disabled child above and beyond what governmental benefits provide when they themselves are no longer around to provide them. Trusts can also be very useful to help those with larger estates that will be subject to federal or state estate taxes to minimize the exposure of their estates to such taxes, thus ensuring the maximum amount of assets for the future enjoyment of their children and grandchildren.”
