Dennis M. Carnelli Named to Connecticut Chief State’s Attorney’s Statewide Community Engagement Board

Dennis M. Carnelli, attorney with the law firm of Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C., has been named to the Connecticut Chief State’s Attorney’s Statewide Community Engagement Board. The newly formed Statewide Community Engagement Board, created by Connecticut Chief State’s Attorney Richard Colangelo, Jr. (appointed 2020) is comprised of members from throughout Connecticut. The Board is intended to address transparency and foster collaboration and communication between community stakeholders and the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney with respect to prosecutorial policies, legislative proposals, and matters of public safety.

“My membership on this board stems from my longstanding involvement in matters affecting Connecticut’s military servicemembers and veterans,” states board member Carnelli. “I hope to provide candid and meaningful insight wherever and whenever such proposals implicate the interests of Connecticut’s servicemembers and veterans.”

Attorney Carnelli is a civil litigation attorney focusing on appellate matters and complex civil litigation. In addition to contract law, commercial litigation, insurance law, municipal liability, product liability, and general tort law, he also practices administrative law, particularly matters involving the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense.

A combat veteran of the Iraq War, Attorney Carnelli served in the United States Army as a forward observer with the 3d Brigade Combat Team, 3d Infantry Division. Attorney Carnelli is the Vice Chairman of the Veterans & Military Affairs Section of the Connecticut Bar Association and serves on the Advisory Board for the New England Veterans Chamber of Commerce. He teaches an annual course in business ethics at the Entrepreneurial Bootcamp for Veterans at the University of Connecticut’s School of Business.
