Brittany S. Cates Joins Board of AIDS Project New Haven

New Haven, Connecticut (September 18, 2013) – Ms. Brittany S. Cates, an attorney with the New Haven law firm of Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C., has been appointed to the board of directors of AIDS Project New Haven. AIDS Project New Haven works to increase public awareness of HIV, promote prevention through education and advocacy, and secure funding for support services such as meals on wheels and medication management.

“I think that educating people about HIV/AIDS and working to promote a rational response to the disease is the best way to combat the stigma still very much associated with the disease and to get people who need treatment to seek treatment,” states Ms. Cates. While Ms. Cates is new to AIDS Project New Haven she is not new to the field of health care or client advocacy. In law school, Ms. Cates interned at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. She was part of the trial team responsible for prosecuting individuals who committed grave human rights violations during the Balkan wars. Currently, Ms. Cates practices health care law with the New Haven law firm of Neubert, Pepe & Monteith.
