Biography
Marisa M. Engel enjoys the challenges and learning opportunities afforded her by the law, most especially in her practice areas of commercial finance and real estate, but she derives the most professional satisfaction as she helps people successfully navigate unfamiliar and often complex legal processes.
Marisa’s experience with the law began with her first job at age 17 with Milford Law, LLC d/b/a Kapusta, Otzel & Averaimo. While her early responsibilities included cleaning coffee pots, they quickly evolved to both part- and full-time responsibilities as she attended Suffolk University, where she majored in History and Literature. Her love of teaching was surpassed by a love of working one-on-one with others and she continued her education at Quinnipiac University School of Law.
Her graduation and subsequent hiring at Milford Law as an attorney coincided with the nation-wide decline in housing prices and she was able to support clients as she gained valuable experience with foreclosures and consumer default litigation, wills and estate planning, probate, and residential real estate.
Marisa’s next professional era was as Title Reviewer and Counsel for Legal Title Services, LLC in Fairfield, focusing on both residential and commercial title search review. As the result of an acquisition, that company merged with Action Title Research in 2022 and she was made Division Manager for the New England Operations Group, which enabled her to expand her title experience to include the rest of New England.
Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C. offers Marisa the opportunity to explore new practice areas as well as the chance to collaborate with experts in these fields. The possibilities for career development and a new client base to support are attractive qualities for an attorney who wants to provide answers when clients aren’t even sure what questions they should ask.
In addition to advising clients, Marisa is an active part of the school community as she spends as much time as possible involved in her children’s academic and after-school activities.
