Neubert, Pepe & Monteith Welcomes Intern Monica Torrijos

New Haven, Connecticut (July 11, 2018) – Neubert, Pepe & Monteith welcomes intern Monica Torrijos. Ms. Torrijos joins the firm from the Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity (LCD) summer intern program. LCD’s program is selective and they choose only a handful of well qualified, diverse college students who have an interest in the law.

Ms. Torrijos, a student at Eastern Connecticut State University, is interested in pursuing a career in law. This internship provides Ms. Torrijos an introduction to the practice of law and exposure to varied practice areas. Enriching the internship, LCD summer interns visit the Dr. Henry Lee Institute of Forensics, University of Connecticut and Quinnipiac University law schools, State and Federal courts, the Office of Attorney General of Connecticut, and other agencies and State offices. The students will participate in additional group programs throughout their summer internships.

LCD began 15 years ago to promote diversity in the practice of law, whether in law firms, public agencies or businesses. Their mission is to unite the resources, energy and commitment of Connecticut’s leading corporations, public sector entities, law firms, law schools and state bar associations in the joint mission of making the State a more attractive place for attorneys of color and women to practice law and find satisfying professional opportunities.

Attorney Nancy Kinsella is directing Ms. Torrijos’ work and providing mentorship. Neubert, Pepe & Monteith’s goal is to make Ms. Torrijos’ time at the firm educational, rewarding and fun.
