Gregory J. Pepe, principal with the law firm of Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C. hosted and moderated a discussion at the American Society of Medical Association Counsel (ASMAC) annual meeting titled, “The Evolving Role of the General Counsel at Medical Associations.” The discussion featured Gene Ransom, J.D., CEO of the Maryland State Medical Society, Jennifer Hanscom, CEO of the Washington State Medical Association and Bethany Sherrer, J.D., M.B.A., M.H.A. Director of Government Relations and General Counsel for the Medical Association of Georgia. ASMAC is a specialized organization of approximately 145 member attorneys who are employed by or work on behalf of physician and specialty medical societies and associations throughout the United States.

Attorney Pepe heads the firm’s Healthcare Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution & Mediation, and Corporate & Business Transactions practice areas. He advises state and private medical societies regarding physician practice management issues within the context of organized medicine and managed care. Attorney Pepe also represents numerous physician groups, including large integrated practices, IPAs, PHOs, and others involved in healthcare law issues. He is an executive board member of ASMAC.
