Biography

Stephanie M. Gibbons has more than 25 years’ paralegal experience. Stephanie began her paralegal career after discovering how much she enjoyed the legal field while working as an intern and then clerk at the State’s Attorney’s Office. After her move to the private sector, she began working in the residential real estate practice area, eventually adding family law, criminal law, bankruptcy, and litigation to her knowledge base. When Stephanie held a position at a family law practice in New Haven, CT, the practice became the plaintiff’s co-counsel in the case of Kerrigan v. Commissioner of Public Health. In this case, same sex couples challenged the State of Connecticut’s laws which did not allow for same sex marriage. Together with the firm, Stephanie celebrated the passing of the 2008 law guaranteeing marriage rights to same sex couples. This case helped pave the way for the U.S. to change its laws and grant marriage rights to same sex couples in every state.

With her lengthy experience in real estate transactions, Stephanie assists the attorneys in Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C.’s Commercial Real Estate group, where her focus is on the preparation and review of bank loan documents, review of due diligence and title work, as well as comprehensive post-closing document retrieval and review. Stephanie has extensive contact with the many banks Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C. works with and maintains a strong working relationship with the bank representatives. One of Stephanie’s concentrations is the preparation of, monitoring and assisting in, the closing, funding, and post-closing file monitoring of SBA CDC/504 loans. Government SBA CDC/504 loans are strictly monitored and are continuously updated with new requirements. Stephanie enjoys the rigor, challenges, and continued learning as she works in concert with NPM’s attorneys on these government loans.

Stephanie also provides support in Commercial Litigation, where she assists the attorneys in the preparation and filing of various court documents in state and federal courts. She previously supported the bankruptcy group assisting in the management of all aspects of preparation and filing of pleadings and motions, and monitoring bankruptcy calendars.
