Stephanie Chicares

Biography

Specializing in medical malpractice and hospital liability defense, Stephanie T. Chicares earned her paralegal certification at Branford Hall Career Institute.

Her grammar schoolteachers predicted that her curiosity for details and procedures, and how they are applied, would lead her to a career in either politics or the law.  She took the latter path, influenced by an early job at the New Haven Lawn Club, where she would listen to the legal conferences and seminars as she served food to attendees at the club.  The information fascinated her and, after earning her paralegal certification, she worked on the plaintiff’s side of the table for eight years before moving over to defense for almost a decade.

This dual experience gives Stephanie the advantage of perspective, where she is familiar with what both sides are facing.  She combines this ability to appreciate their positions and a true love of research and analysis to bridge the gap between medical and legal professions.  Our team relies on her to understand the law and be familiar with the medical terms and procedures that form the framework of each case.

Stephanie is also a notary and, outside of the office, enjoys a variety of hobbies, including boating and target shooting.  She caught the car bug from her family, and she is a car enthusiast capable of wrenching as well as appreciating automobiles.  Her love of the internal combustion engine also extends to motorcycles.
